Privacy Policy

Lokantab is a point-of-sale application for cafés and restaurants, operated by Smaragdon Technologies OÜ (“Lokantab”, “we”, “us”), a company registered in Estonia. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the Lokantab mobile app and this website.
Information we collect
Account information
When you create an account we collect your business name, your name, email address and phone number, and a password (which we store only in hashed form).
Business data you provide
To run the service we store the business information you enter — for example your venue settings, menu, products, tables, orders and the team members you invite.
Subscription information
We record which plan you are on and its status. Payments are handled by Apple, Google and our subscription provider (RevenueCat). We do not receive or store your full card number or payment credentials.
Usage and device data
We collect basic usage, device and diagnostic information — such as your device model, operating system and app version, and crash or error reports — to keep the app reliable and secure.
How we use your information
- To provide, operate and maintain the service;
- To process your subscription and manage your account;
- To provide customer support and respond to your requests;
- To improve and develop the app and our features;
- To protect the security of the service and prevent fraud and abuse;
- To comply with our legal, tax and accounting obligations.
Legal bases
Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies, we process your information to perform our contract with you, in our legitimate interests (operating and securing the service), to comply with legal obligations, and, where relevant, with your consent.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run Lokantab, under agreements that require them to protect it:
- Cloud hosting and infrastructure providers;
- Our subscription-management provider (RevenueCat);
- Analytics and crash-reporting providers (e.g. Google Firebase, Bugsnag);
- The app stores (Apple, Google) for account sign-in and billing.
We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect our rights, users or the public.
International transfers
Some of our providers may process data outside your country, including outside the European Economic Area. Where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account we delete your account and personal data; we retain a limited set of records only where necessary for security, fraud prevention, and our legal and financial obligations, for as long as the law requires, after which they are deleted. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to our use of your information, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. You can exercise these rights by emailing us at [email protected]. If you are in the EU, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority (in Estonia, the Data Protection Inspectorate / Andmekaitse Inspektsioon).
Security
We use technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and to address any issues promptly.
Children
Lokantab is a business tool intended for use by adults. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
